AIRPORTS COUNCIL INTERNATIONAL EVALUATES GROWTH DYNAMICS OF BORYSPIL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT STATE ENTEPRISE IN 2016
Boryspil International Airport became one of the leaders in the European airports rating of ACI Europe (Airports Council International) according to the results of 2016.
Boryspil Airport increased the number of attracted passengers by 18.8% according to the previous year ratings, ranking the third place in the airports growth rate, annually handling from 5 to 10 million passengers. Berlin (36.7%) and Larnaca (24.2%) airports took the lead in this category.
The average passenger flow growth in Europe made up +5.1% in 2016, thereby in the European Union countries it rose by 6.7%, while in the non-EU countries the average decrease was 0.9%. At the same time, considering the positive dynamics of Boryspil Airport in particular, it was reported that «Ukraine demonstrated a great dynamic growth».
The results of Airports Council International ranking proved the efficiency of the introduced Airport reforms, implemented during 2015-2016. ACI report demonstrates that Boryspil Airport became a prominent player in the European aviation market and occupied there a significant niche in accordance with the results of 2016.
Among the other Ukrainian airports, apart from Boryspil, Kharkiv Airport strengthened its position in «the smallest» European classification group. In terms of deficiency of constituent passenger flow increase, the other Ukrainian airports were not included into the European rating.
