THE DEVELOPMENT OF INTERNATIONAL AIR MAIL TRANSIT ENCOURAGED AT BORYSPIL AIRPORT

Today, on January 31, 2017 a Memorandum on cooperation between the Ukrainian State Enterprise of Posts «UKRPOSHTA» and Ukraine International Airlines with the participation of the Head of Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise has been signed. The agreement covers new technological solution, which will allow to further increase the volume of international mail transit through Boryspil International Airport.

Launching of the project is important not only for partner companies and Boryspil Airport, which is has been developing its transit potential, but for the state as a participant of the international economic processes.

The project started in November 2016 and as of today about 50 tons of international mail has been transported from China to 5 countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Armenia, Cyprus and Israel through Boryspil Airport. In January 2017 transportation of mail from the Czech Republic via Kiev to China started as well. In February 2017 UIA begins carriage of transit mail from Switzerland to the CIS countries on its own flights.

The Memorandum on the development of cooperation was signed by the Director General of «UKRPOSHTA» Igor Smelyanskii and UIA President Yuri Miroshnikov in the building of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine in the presence of the Minister Volodymyr Omelyan, as well as the Head of Boryspil International Airport State Enterprise Yevhenii Dykhne.

«Boryspil Airport has a great transit potential, which can be effectively used by other business entities. We are happy that a state enterprise, which, like Boryspil Airport, included in the Ministry of Infrastructure management sector, is interested in partnership in terms of this project. Our cooperation with «UKRPOSHTA» and UIA regarding development of air mail transit is very promising. First of all, together we create a joint aviation product which is fast-growing at the international level ", said Yevhenii Dykhne.
